SOLD!

June 26, 2009

The sim’s been sold, and we’re just waiting for Linden Labs to complete the transfer paperwork.for sale~sold

I want to introduce the new owner, Quentin Falworth, here, by name at least, anticipating that you’ll meet him in person very soon. I’m very impressed with him, and thrilled that he plans to keep the sim very much like it is today.

This is great news for all of our faithful Lighthouse Jazz Club members. In addition to running the sim, Quentin is planning on keeping and running the club. So if you’re interested in DJing or hosting, drop him an IM ;-)

Keep your eyes open for the re-opening notice :-)

FOR SALE: Gorgeous Tropical Class 5 Sim & Jazz Club

June 16, 2009

Dear Club Members:

First off, I want to say a huge thank you to our members, DJs and hosts. You’ve all been so wonderful, and made Lighthouse Jazz Club into an amazing place. I’ve enjoyed the last year and a half with you immensely, and it’s been a great run. But, sadly, all good things do come to an end, and it’s time to close this SL chapter. My RL is too busy to run a sim and club by myself, so they’re both up for sale. I have a lovely gift for you all, created by our amazingly talented Leja Ayres, that I’ll be distributing soon.

*********************************

Harumeku Isle is a popular destination and home of Lighthouse Landing Homes and Lighthouse Jazz Club. It’s been lovingly owned & managed for over a year and a half, but is for sale due to divorce and a busy RL.

A full class 5 sim, with 65,536 sqm, it has 5 residential landowners plus two parcels for sale, whose combined fees cover $192 of the $295 USD monthly tier.  The majority of landowners have been residents for over a year. They all  pay their fees on time and love their properties.

Lighthouse Landing Homes has 14 rental homes, renting from $500L/wk to $1500L/wk, and are on average full 85% of the time.

All parcels, owned and rented have generous, gorgeously landscaped easements, ensuring resident privacy.

A waterfall in the middle of the sim runs into a meandering river, which drains into the sea on a large public beach. The public beach has a multitude of features: hot tub, tiki shower, water slide, and romantic cuddle spots.

Lighthouse Jazz Club has almost 1000 members, and is nestled into the mountain at Harumeku Isle. It boasts an aquarium floor, waterfall, and private second deck with a stunning spiral staircase.

The entire sim, including all transferable landscaping, club furnishings and rental furnishings are for sale for $650 USD. Price negotiable.

Please contact Jazz Brennon inworld for more information or a tour.

Jazz Club Happenings

May 21, 2009

We’ve had more than a reasonable amount of upheaval and high drama at the club recently, so I’m taking a few days to regroup. I hope to have a status update to you in a few days.

Thanks for your patience.

Check out the Intan Couples Dance….

May 9, 2009

…….. the next time you’re at Lighthouse Jazz Club. There are three fun new dances.tango

And if you don’t know what/where the Intan is, here’s a quick summary: It’s the large red heart rotating over the aquarium dance floor. It contains a number of couples dances (plus a couple of surprises), so you can rotate through them while you’re dancing, without the hassle of jumping on different balls scattered all over the floor. To use it, just “touch” it, and it’ll send you a pair of couple’s dance balls.

The Intan was a generous and lovely gift from one of our favorite friends and club patrons: Mackenzie Bolissima :-)

DJ Jazzy B on Fridays

woot dancin with the DJ!

Dancin' with the DJ ;-)

nice crowd !

Nice !

Our very own Jazz Brennon did her smooth & silky jazz set on Friday night. The crowd was fun and the music was superb.  If you’ve never heard Jazz’s DJ persona, you’ll have to stop in on a Friday night and hear it  for yourself. One of our new club members, Honestly Baxton, danced with us during the set, then picked out and moved into her new home on the sim a little later in the evening. It’s been said that things in Second Life go about 6 times faster than RL and there you go — a perfect example of that :-)

Also got the chance to test drive the newly released V12 slow dance with the DJ too. Come on down and check it out yourself, and let us know what you think.

DJ Furion Debut & Best in Red Contest

April 29, 2009

DJ Furion made his debut at Lighthouse Jazz Club on Monday, live and direct from Portugal.  He’s got a velvety smooth voice and a fun personality. Furion’s  jazz set was terrific!  If you love jazz, you have to come check him out, Mondays from 1-3 PM. Nice crowd and everyone had a very good time.

Btw, there were more than a few IMs wanting to know more about him!  Last minute, our hostess Nia Afarensis,  suggested a Best in Red contest. The contest winner, Madelene Merlin looked stunning, and took home a cool $500L prize.

“Madelene Merlin: lol its the first time that I won a contest”  Congratulations Madelene!

April 28, 2009

………. which is just unbelievable! Lighthouse Jazz Club is 15 months old, and has grown steadily every month, thanks to you, our wonderful members, and our amazing DJs and hosts. We’re looking for some innovative ways to celebrate this milestone when it happens in the next couple of weeks, and would love to get your input!
Thanks!

Latest news and habpenings at the Lighthouse

April 20, 2009

Sorry the blog’s been kinda empty this past week — Hab’s RL got busy and hectic. We’ve got a new DJ starting this week  DJ Furion Paine  will play at the club this Monday 1-3 PM. Again, a big thanks goes out to Queenie for finding another really awesome DJ. More info later as things develop. We’ve got a new DJ on Sundays –DJ Goldie, aka AMETHYST Goldlust. She started yesterday, and with Nia Afarensis hosting and Hab injecting a little silliness into a perfectly good Sunday set –a really nice mix of old school funk , R&B, and soul music — we all had a great Sunday morning. A few old faces stopped in, and some new converts ;-) gotta love it!

One of the best parts of having a club is meeting new people, and providing a nice, fun place to hang out. There’s really two faces of the Lighthouse: the first is the DJ crowd with THE best DJs in SL, our regulars and the DJs’ entourage and followers, and the new faces that discover this little slice of paradise. And then there’s the off-peak hours, quiet time with just a few folks coming to enjoy some private time, a little dancing or snuggle, and conversation. Jazz and I are very pleased and amazed at how the club’s grown and made some impact among the thousands of clubs in SL to choose from. Thanks to everyone who puts their love and time into making it a great place to hang out, and thanks for choosing Lighthouse Jazz Club! :-)
